what do you think of my poem?

hush, the eagles said
the eagles flew,
the eagles bred
they prospered and loved and had a mind of their own,
hush, the eagles said,
soon others of the kingdom came to watch
the flocks of feathers in action,
the eagles noticed this, and approached the still bodies,
“curiosity may have killed the cat, but jealousy killed the beast”
hush the eagles said,
they reigned power,
they feigned love,
and soon they were mad,
crimson stained beaks,
filling red, flooded creeks
hush the remaining eagles said,
all was still,
all was calm,
then the humans stepped out with their pistols and knives,
and forever suffered in the eagles’ shadow

The eagles are a metaphor for our ancestors, and how they fell and died (the eagles’ blood filled the creeks), and how humans followed in their footsteps, by reigning terror and destroying everything/

Chosen Answer:

That is a very deep poem Evie. This would be a great metaphorical poem for global warming or for your history class!!!! I would publish it if I were I famous poet and company!!! Well done, the eagle is our symbol for the freedom that the USA will forever symbolize!!!!
