I am looking to get a camera that does still and video, something that takes HD video and very high quality photos, as I said I want to be able to get very good quality video and photos of lightning, I would probably need a shutter release cord. Also will be recording video and stills of weather related issues and fires, earthquake damage, plane crashes, and whatever else arises. I need to be able to edit the video and pictures, with editing software. Please recommend a camera in the 00-5000 range. Thanks

I recommend the Canon 5D Mark III. Many professionals use this camera for video and photography. My friend recently bought this camera and he loves it. My other friend uses the Canon 5D Mark II and she loves that camera too. She uses it for video productions and quality is amazing! Also, Canon is well known for the good video quality so if you want to buy a good camera with good quality video, buy a camera from canon.
